Tag Time: 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty

1. Greed: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

E.L.F. Professional Blending Eye Brush

E.L.F. Eyelid Primer

At the price of a dollar, both of these E.L.F. products are tied for my most inexpensive beauty items. Every time my main crease brush is dirty, I use that brush instead and it does a decent job at blending. Ever since purchasing the E.L.F. Eyelid Primer, I will never go back to repurchasing high end ones! It never creases on me and it does a great job at making my eye shadow last!

 Urban Decay Naked Palette

This is definitely my most expensive beauty item. I absolutely love this palette and how versatile it is!

2. Wrath: What beauty product do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?

NAIL POLISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the look of nail polish on my nails, but I can never find the time to actually paint them. Then, when I finally do find the time, I always touch something and fuck them up. I never learn. lol It's irritating!

 Urban Decay Ammo Palette

Top Row, left to right: Smog, Mildew, Oil Slick, Last Call. Middle: Chopper. Bottom Row, left to right:  Maui Wowie, Shattered, Polyester Bride, Grifter, and Sin.

I was always interested in purchasing this palette, but I wasn't willing to pay 34 dollars for it on Urban Decay's website. I also hate buying makeup online. One day, I randomly found it at Nordstrom Rack for $12 dollars and was so excited! We were together at last <3 lol

3. Gluttony: What is your most delicious beauty product?

Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Cherry Me'
This smells exactly like a cherry jolly rancher! I always find myself applying it just for the scent. I can't get enough!

4. Sloth: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?

As much as I love these guys, I absolutely HATE washing them! It takes so long to do and it's just an annoying chore. I usually just wait until I can't even do my makeup because all of my brushes are so dirty. Then, i'm like, "i guess it's time now". It's so bad!

5. Pride: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

MAC Amber. Fucking. Lights.

I own a lot of gold eye shadow, but this shade compliments my hazel eyes SO nicely! I usually get so many compliments on my eye makeup when I wear this. It's an all around beautiful shade! If you are going to get one MAC shadow, I would definitely recommend this one.

6. Lust: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
I love guys that are funny, weird as hell, down to earth, tall, and have a great smile.

7. Envy: What beauty items would you most like to receive as a gift?

This list could go on forever, but i'll just mention a few picks!

1. Too Faced Natural At Night Palette
2. The Balm Instain Blushes

I tag everyone to do this! Don't forget to link yours in the comments! Thanks for reading! :)

Restoring My Hair Back To Health (My Hair Care Routine)

First and foremost, my hair is dark brown, thin, and naturally wavy. It is not chemically treated or dyed; it's all natural! I would like to grow out my hair. About two months ago, I started having severe hair breakage. My hair also became much more brittle and dry, started thinning out, and was much more fragile. So, I started researching what to do about it and I eventually found a lot of answers. These products are made to combat hair breakage and replenish your hair. I'm currently just trying to restore my hair back to health and nourish my hair. These products are really helping me out and I thought I would tell you guys about them. If you are having similar hair issues, I am sure that these products will really help you out!

First thing's first, I started using a different shampoo and conditioner!

I have nothing but great things to say about this! You definitely start seeing a difference, even after the first use. By the fifth use, I had about 95% less hair breakage! I usually massage the shampoo onto and all over my scalp for a good two minutes or so. I try to put the conditioner onto my strands. I would highly recommend it to anyone suffering with hair breakage. Thank you, L'Oreal, for being my lifesaver!

After I get out of the shower, there are a few options that I have here, depending on the condition that my hair is in.

A. If my hair feels pretty good and managed, I will wait until my hair is damp. Then, I spritz my DIY hair detangler onto my hair and gently comb through any knots.

B. If I feel like my hair is dry after my shower, I will put some leave-in conditioner in my hair.

This stuff is great for conditioning your hair! I would suggest putting only a little bit of this in your hair because it can easily weigh your hair down. A bonus for me is that it is made to mend hair breakage. So, I will usually apply this in my roots only in the back of my hair, since that is where I usually have the most breakage. This tub is only $5 at Target and it will last you FOREVER!

C. If my hair is feeling frizzy, I will usually use this product in the middle of my hair.

This stuff does its job pretty well and I love it! Unfortunately, this is discontinued :( Here are some other great, drugstore frizz serums that work just as well! I have heard that the Garnier Fructis Style Sleek and Shine Anti-Frizz Serum and the Dove Hair Therapy Anti-Frizz Serum both work wonders!

In addition, I will use this on my ends, if I am using my Sunsilk Frizz Creme.

This product claims to get rid of split ends and reduces frizz for soft and smooth ends. At first, it worked for me and thought it was going to be a holy grail product. After a while, I guess my hair got used to it and it just stopped working. At this point, i'm just using this product so that I could finish it and get rid of it. It's not a product that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Give it a try! See if you like it, but I personally will not be repurchasing.

Moving on to deep conditioning, you're probably not going to be very surprised about this!

The instructions say to leave the Deep Repair Masque on in the shower for seven minutes. I usually shampoo my hair and then leave the hair mask on overnight. I get the best results when I mix it with the Healing Oil Treatment; the oil is too heavy to be used by itself anyway, so this usually works out nicely.Trust me, there is a reason why there is so much hype around this hair mask! I always wake up with the softest, healthiest-looking hair! Even the ends of my hair look and feel so much healthier after I apply this and that is a lot for me! I'm not one to splurge on expensive hair products, but this product is so worth the exception. For all of my fellow drugstore lovers, I will be looking for a good dupe for you guys! If you know of one, let me know in the comments below! I would be glad to compare the two for you.

One of the main causes of my hair breakage was that I was shampooing my hair every. single. day. Now, I try to take showers 2-3 times a week, so that I don't strip my natural oils. If I am ever looking a little bit oily, this dry shampoo helps me out a lot.

I usually just spray this in about six inches away from my scalp. Then, I rub it into my scalp, until there is no white residue. It works pretty well at soaking up the oils on the scalp, as nasty as that sounds. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good dry shampoo. Check out Marshall's for a bottle that is a few dollars cheaper than at other places!

Lastly, I would like to mention that I take Biotin daily.

This vitamin helps with all things hair: growing hair out, hair loss, and improving the quality of hair! Keep in mind that these pills will only work wonders if you take them for at least a few months. I have definitely seen changes in my hair length, after taking these pills consistently. I would recommend this to anyone looking to grow their hair out!

Thanks for sticking with me throughout this long blog post!            Happy Fourth of July to All! <3

June Favorites

Milani Baked Blush in 'Coralina'

This blush gives you such a beautiful glow! The quality is also amazing! I absolutely love it and  I would definitely reccomend it to anyone looking for a nice coraly, peachy blush shade! You don't even need to apply a highlight with this. I've been reaching for it a lot lately.

Putting Urban Decay's 'Half Baked' in the middle of the lid

I find that doing this on top of a mid-toned shimmery shade brightens up your eye look completely! This shadow is also beautiful just worn by itself all over the eyelid!

DIY Hair Detangler/ Hair Refresher

I've been spraying this in my hair a lot lately. It helps a lot with detangling my hair. A bonus is that the scent is pretty great! I will also just spray this in my natural hair whenever I want some hair refreshment. It works pretty well all around! I actually made a blog post on how I make this, so check that out here in you are interested: http://mariannesays1.blogspot.com/2014/06/diy-de-tangler-and-hair-refresher.html  :)

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 'Lime'

I usually stick to wearing neutral shadows, so I don't usually get much use out of this. However, lately, i've been wearing more olive tones of shadow. Before I apply the shadow, I usually just lightly apply some of this with my finger. It always brightens up my eyes and makes my olive eye shadow pop! I love it!

NYX Single Shadow in 'Iced Mocha'

I gave this a shout out in my last favorites video, but I never really realized just how great this was for the inner corner! It literally goes with any look and i've been using it SO much lately! I would definitely reccomend this to anyone looking for an all-around great inner corner shadow!

L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Dry Oil/ Leave-in Treatment

God, I freaking LOVE this stuff! It gives my hair shine while it also smoothes it out. It makes my hair look so much healthier! Since it is an oil, a little goes a long way with this. So, you can get multiple uses out of this! Another perk to this is that it smells great! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a dry oil.

Products To Use Up

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

This foundation breaks me out and it makes me look cakey. In addition, the shade is too light for my skin tone; I used to be really bad at matching my foundation to my skin in the drugstore! I almost never wear this when going out, which is probably why I haven't used it up in the three years that i've had it. However, I just want it to be gone from my collection because I hate it so much. Therefore, I usually try to use a lot of it only when I mess around with makeup.

Sunsilk Waves of Envy Gel Cream Twist

As you can see, I have about one more use left in this product. I actually love this product! It gave me a decent amount of waves. I would usually use it before I would braid my damp hair. My hair has been really damaged lately so i've stopped using any styling products that could cause any type of breakage or dryness. So, that's why i'm stuck with this bottle. However, once I feel that my hair is ready to handle styling products again, I will use it up and be able to free up some space! Please Note: This product is discontinued.

Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Peach Kiss'

This is one of those nude shades that makes you look dead. Also, the color applies unevenly and just looks awful on my lips. The only way it gives you a nice shine is if you just put one coat on your lips. The annoying part about that is that you know it's not going to last long at all. The great part about this product is that I absolutely adore the peach scent! I also love how moisturizing it is, so I will start making a point to use it before I go to bed or around the house.

Murad Acne Management Formula

I randomly found this when I was cleaning out my bathroom the other day; it has about a year left before it expired. So, i'm going to try to use this up soon.

Bath and Body Works Wild Peach Poppies Fragrance Mist

This fruity scent is amazing for summer! As you can tell from my obsession with the smell of the Peach Kiss Baby Lips, I freaking love peach scents! The only reason why I want to use this up is because i've gotten kind of tired of it. I started using this after purchasing it during the semi-annual sale in June last year. It's still an amazing scent, but i'd really just like to switch things up a little and try a new one.

NYX Slide On, Glide On Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner

Since this has been compared to the Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner, I figured that this would be a great eyeliner. However, I always considered it to be pretty average. The waterproof claim on this is complete bull shit! Luckily, I found out that the Rimmel Scandal Eyes pencil eyeliner is much better quality AND it's a fraction of the cost. I just want to finish this so that I could purchase the Rimmel one instead.

Stila Lip Glaze

Just like everyone else, I'm not a huge fan of this lip gloss. It's really sticky and gloopy. I just want to finish this up so that I can get it out of my collection and never have to use it again.

Thanks for reading, loves! :)

Let's Talk Trash! (Empties)

Clean and Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser

I don't have many great things to say about this. The only thing I liked about this was that it left my skin feeling clean and soft. I wasn't a big fan of it's orangey scent. It wasn't overpowering or anything, but I just wasn't a fan. As for the whole "morning burst" part of this, I feel like that whole claim is bull shit. When I first used this, I felt that it woke me up, barely. After a few more uses, my skin got used to it and I didn't feel anything. Overall, i'm just glad that I used this up. I will not be repurchasing this because I just didn't feel like it really did much for me. I also want to try something that is formulated for acne.

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Strength Reconstructing Butter

This was supposed to be a deep conditioner. Some of my better conditioners made my hair softer than this did! I think one of the reasons why I am giving this no praise is because the claims are so high! So, I expected it to be at least a little bit more moisturizing than it was. Clearly, I would not repurchase it.

Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil Conditioner

I absolutely loved this conditioner! This would be an example of a conditioner that made my hair much softer and silkier than the Garnier "deep conditioner" mentioned before this product. Also, I absolutely love the smell! It's one of my favorites!I got this product for $5.79 at Target. I will definitely be repurchasing it!

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash

When I was growing up, I used to use this product for many years. I remember not liking it that much. So many people raved about it. So, I thought I would give it another shot, maybe hoping that they changed the formula. Like always, it dried my skin out, it was too gentle for my liking, and it didn't seem to do anything for my acne. Another point is that it contains 2% of salicylic acid and I typically see better results from benzoyl peroxide. The orangey smell and color reminds me of Dial soap. I couldn't be happier to be finished with this product. I will obviously not be repurchasing.

Dove Winter Care Body Wash

I love how hydrating this was! A little bit of product would lather up so quickly on my skin. The scent is very clean. I actually would not repurchase this, only because I usually like to try out different body wash scents. However, I did enjoy it and would recommend other people to try it out!

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub

Even though this says that it has 'blemish control', I feel like it didn't do much for my acne. It could have to do with the fact that this product has salicyllic acid, instead of benzoyl peroxide. However, I do really like this as an exfoliant. Keep in mind that the granules of apricot are pretty large, so this can be a little bit harsh on the skin. I personally love harsh exfoliants, but I know that some people may not.  It left my skin feeling so soft and clean. An added bonus to this product and to this line in general, is that all of the products are very inexpensive! I would usually use this once a week or whenever my skin was feeling crappy. This is probably my third or fourth bottle. I might repurchase it, but I am planning on trying out other things from this line of products, just so I can change it up a bit.

Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil Intensive Moisture Mask

Before I talk about this, I just want to apologize for tossing this out. I totally forgot that I was going to be making an empties post when I did. Anyways, I LOVED this! It did a great job at making my hair really soft and luxurious. It smells amazing too! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great and inexpensive hair mask.
